The Maybelline New York Colorblur by Lipstudio is a cream matte pencil with a blurring smudger that allows you to create different looks with the product. You can do a full-on bold look or use the smudger for barely there look.
I’m not that big on the smudger. Some of the blurred look cool like the reverse ombre but I’m not big on the barely there looks. However, I like the application of this product with one caveat that I’ll touch on in a few.
Orange Ya Glad
Partner In Crimson
Plum Please
I really liked the way Plum Please and Partner In Crimson wore. While there is some transfer during eating and drinking it doesn’t wear off in a way that makes me feel like I have to start with a bare lip to reapply it. They weren’t drying, heavy or tight on my lips like some matte products can be. It does apply better with a bare lip so keep that in mind if you tend to need lip balm. My only beef with it was that Orange Ya Glad gave me hell because it made me look like I didn’t exfoliate my lips. It’s pretty much unwearable for me at this point but I love the color.
There are 7 colors besides these so I will be picking up one or two more at some point. I might even do a giveaway so be on the lookout.
Maybelline New York Colorblur by Lipstudio($8.99) is available at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS and other retailers.
